Even with evidence to the contrary, children believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, fairies, monsters, and magic. As adults, many of us lose that. In the loss of belief, we also lose the ability to truly believe the impossible is possible.
In 2018, I decided to try my hand at writing fantasy. I love the genre and thought it would be fun to create my own shifters and witches. I fell in love with the characters but struggled a little with world-building, which wasn't a revelation. I didn't know if I wanted to stick to the normal rules of shifters and witches, create my own lore, or a hybrid of the two.
Forgiving oneself is a crucial part of healing. Yet, there is a part of me, the most critical, perfectionistic part, that believes that forgiving myself is letting myself off the hook or allowing myself to forget some lesson I am supposed to remember.
“What if it doesn’t work out?” is getting on my nerves, along with its twin, “Will it work out?” and its cousin, “I’m hoping it works out.” I am tired of the whole damn family! More importantly, I am tired of using them.
I have good news and not-so-good news. The good news is most of you are NOT on God's stronger warriors list. The not-so-great news is that your life feels like it's been in upheaval because it is, and you asked for it.
