There are No Limits
There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level.
Bruce Lee, attributed, The Art of Expressing the Human Body
Okay, so Bruce Lee went a little hard on this one, but he’s not wrong. Minus the “kills you” part, it is a great quote from someone who was great. And it won’t kill you. Let me rephrase. Do not do things that will kill you. That would be bad.
The point is, never stop trying. Always strive to break through the plateaus. Here’s a less intimidating quote. It is my absolute favorite. “Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit, when there are footprints on the moon.”
The only limit is the one you set for yourself.
I did a business plan in January. There are two sections on revenue. One section was dedicated to doing the math to determine how much you could expect to make, but the first section asks how much you want to make this year. This was the no-limits-dream-big section of the planner. I said $2,000. Face palm. I gross more in two weeks at work! I limited myself on the dream big section of a planner!
Clearly, I am not yet in a frame of mind to manifest millions this year.
Let my affliction of realism be a lesson to you. You are your only limit. Change your mindset. Break the chains and burn the expectations and excuses. Dream extravagant dreams. Just be sure your actions match the magnitude of your dreams.
